ATIKU TO TINUBU: “CALL YOUR FAMILY TO ORDER”
The former vice President of Nigeria and a 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has ordered President Bola Tinubu to rein in his family over an alleged attempt by his son, Seyi Tinubu, to influence the leadership of National Association of Nigerian Students.
Atiku Abubakar made the order, through a statement issued by his media adviser, today.
The statement was titled ‘Tinubu Must Call His Family To Order: Nigeria Is Not A Private Estate’
Two days ago in Abuja, the president of the National Association of Nigerian Students, Comrade Atiku Isah, alleged that Tinubu’s son attempted to bribe him with N100 million in Lagos to publicly support the president.
Isah claimed he turned down the offer, stating that he could not endorse a president who had failed to deliver the masses on his campaign promises.

He further alleged that after rejecting the bribe, he was assaulted, and abducted by thugs on April 15.
Today in his response, Seyi, the son of the president denied any involvement in the alleged attack or abduction, stating that he had never met Isah and accused him of fabricating the story to tarnish his reputation.
Atiku Abubakar in his reaction condemned as unacceptable the alleged attempt by the First family to intimidate and control NANS or any civil society organisation using threats, financial capacity, or violence.
He stated, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu must urgently rein in his family members, particularly his son, Seyi Tinubu, who appears determined to purchase political loyalty for his father by any means necessary, including coercion, violence, and intimidation.
“The serious allegations made by the President of the National Association of Nigerian Students , Comrade Atiku Isah alleging physical assault, abduction, and inducement at the hands of Seyi Tinubu are deeply alarming and strike at the core of democratic norms and civil liberty. That such grave accusations are being levelled against a member of the first family is both disturbing and dangerous.
Atiku Abubakar emphasised that Isah’s public position should be assessed based on facts, not falsehoods.
